"As we entered town, we passed procession after funeral procession. The church where we were to stay the night was in the same condition of most of the city…devastated. We were blessed to be able to sleep the night in the parking lot at a school that had been untouched. The people were unruly, looting areas that had been affected. In the poorer communities, such as Pollito, the houses made of adobe were leveled. People were sitting on top of their rubble, guarding it from the looters."
