EarthQuake shatters lives...PRAY.

"Lima - A powerful series of earthquakes - the largest of them 7.9 magnitude - and aftershocks shook central coastal Peru late Wednesday, killing 17 people and smashing homes, local media reported. The quakes prompted the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre to issue a warning for the west coast of South America for a possible destructive ocean wave, but the notice was later cancelled.

Dozens of people were injured in the city of Ica, one of the sites of the shocks, and several houses had collapsed there, radio reports out of Lima said.

In the provinces of Canete and Chincha, identified by the Peruvian Geophysical Institute as the epicentre of the quake, houses had collapsed and people were taken to the hospitals, the reports said."

Oh Lord Jesus...Be over my Peruvian friends....I pray for our mission team still in Lima, for our precious translators, for Ivan, for La Iglesia de Lima, for La Iglesia Filadelfia y el Pastor Aquiles y su familia en Ica. Lord, you are Health and you are Life. BE over my Peruvian family...it hurts so much to know they are hurting...I long to know how they are, yet must endure silence...
Father, be the peace in the midst of suffering, be the healing salve on so many ruined lives for collapsed homes, crashed busses, twisted cars, lost businesses. You are Peace when all circumstances are upside-down. I pray for Alex and Ruby and their loving family...protect them, Lord, give them strength as they edify the Church. And I pray that the Church would respond with wisdom and Life to this tradgedy. Thank you for All you have given me through them...

Even in Mexico, resting with my family, I feel the pull of Peru...The relationships, the beautiful hearts that I have left behind. Oh Lord...I feel so stretched...over two continents...yet you hold these precious souls in your hand and in your heart. Thank you.

Thank you for the longing you have placed in my heart for your Body, your Church in South America, in Central America, and in Mexico. May this grow, mature, and blossom into the ministry you desire of this willing heart.

In the midst of crisis, may hearts and lives be turned to you. Jose, Veronica, Abel, Oh Lord, keep them in your grip. Ivan and Pedro... Oh Lord, be their life. Let your name be known through them unto all of Peru. Strengthen Anibal, Sulam, Rita. Father, you know their hearts, what they need in this very moment. Be with Angela and her family. Cover the Austins with your Peace. Give Pastor Aquiles in Ica reasurrance that You are COMPLETELY in control, despite the craziness of these past two weeks, and now this earthquake. You are Life, Lord...manifest yourself in this precious family, los Amias.
